Who Should not Submit Articles to Revenue Sharing Sites

Are you submitting articles to enhance your Internet business? If you are, there is a good chance that you should probably be submitting your articles to the revenue sharing sites as well as traditional article directories. But who specifically, would benefit by submitting to some revenue sharing sites?

How much money are you making right now with your articles? Are you making enough or would you like to make more? If you answered that question by saying, yes, you would like to make more money, you should submit your articles to the revenue sharing sites. You have all the benefits that you get with traditional article submission site as well as receiving a portion of the advertising dollars that they earn.

Would you like to increase traffic to your website or blog? If you said yes to this question, you should submit your articles to the revenue sharing sites. Some of the revenue sharing sites provide quite a few page views and a fair amount of traffic.

Are you writing articles to enhance your reputation and profile on the Internet? If you said yes, you should submit your articles to the revenue sharing sites. Some of the articles that I have placed on these sites are ranked higher than articles that I have with traditional directories.

Are you looking for quality backlinks from sites that have good page rank numbers? If you said yes, you should submit your articles to the revenue sharing sites. Some of them are ranked very well.

As it turns out, the only people who shouldn’t submit to revenue sharing sites are those who make over $17,500,000 per year. You see, people making that much money are earning about $100 per minute. If they took five extra minutes to submit an article, it would cost them about $500. And they won’t make that much submitting one article to the revenue sharing sites. But then, people who are making that much money each year probably don’t write many articles.

So if you are not making over $17,500,000 a year, you could probably benefit by writing articles and submitting them to the revenue sharing sites. The substantial benefits far out way any potential disadvantage (for most of us).

Is it Necessary to Submit a Website to Search Engines?

There are several notions about submitting a website to search engines. Some SEO experts argue that you need not and should not submit your site to search engines to get indexed. Their argument is that search engines love to discover new websites on their own, rather than sites being submitted to them.

On the other side, some SEO companies tell you that you need to submit your site to thousands of search engines in order to get indexed and will do it for a fee. They intimidate you that if you didn’t submit your site, it won’t get indexed and your website gets no traffic.

Who is telling the truth?

Both are telling half the truth.

The former (‘don’t submit your website’) breed has based their opinion on the fact that 90% of the search engine traffic comes from 6 – 7 major search engines. These major search engines are capable of crawling through the web on their own. They can follow links found on indexed pages and discover new web pages or sites. They had indexed billions of web pages already and are continuously searching for new and updated content. That’s the problem with them. They are so preoccupied with indexing the remaining content from existing websites, that they hate new sites being submitted to them directly. There is no time for indexing new sites as old sites are growing and generating billions of pages each day. Then, how a new site gets noticed? The answer is simple; you need to place a link to your new web site on a web page of an old indexed site. That’s what they say, don’t submit. Make them to follow your link from an old site, then the SE bot keeps an eye on your site.

But the truth is only some search engines are capable of crawling through the web indexing billions of pages. Not all of them.

This is where the other breed (‘we will submit your site to 100000s of search engines’) comes in. There are several, in fact a large number of search engines out there that needs to be told that your site exists. They are either poor cousins or lazy imitations of big search engines. Their traffic generation strength is far less. But they are also search engines. Who knows, tomorrow some of them could grow as big as their well known cousins. Some of them charge a listing fee to index your site. But they all need that you should submit your site to them so that they can index your site. There is no other way to get indexed by them.

Since their traffic generating potential is almost negligible, you may get very few visitors by submitting to all these small search engines. Since you don’t know how many of such search engines are out there, you can try a submission service for a reasonable price. But do not expect much traffic from them. Even if each of them can send 1 visitor per month, that could amount to a few hundred visitors a month.

If you have a web-based business or if a significant portion of your business is done on the web through your website, then the best advertising and marketing is done by submitting to all available search engines, big or small. No amount of press release, newspaper or radio ad, banner ad, spam email or newsletter will achieve the same results, although, maybe effective in a small proportion.

Before you begin to submit your website to search engines ensure your site well optimized for search engines with necessary tags in place. You site should be professionally designed with god layout, graphics, navigation and the relevant content filled with targeted keywords. Don’t submit incomplete websites or sites with broken links. Prepare a site map and robots.txt files that tell search engines what to index on your site. Several small search engines require description of your website, keywords and any other information that may be pertinent, including the name and contact information of your business.

Mere submission to search engines does not guarantee that your site would get immediately indexed with high ranking. Thousands of new websites come up every day and it may take sometime before your site is crawled for indexing or reviewed by human editors.

Major search engines offer you the facility to analyze your website’s position. You can get a lot of info about your website, if you subscribed to these free webmaster services offered by search engines.

Tips to Submit Sitemap/site to Google, Yahoo and Msn

Submitting sitemap to major search engines is an important and effective way to get indexed all of web pages quickly. Often webmaster has two types of sitemaps- HTML sitemap and XML sitemap.

HTML Sitemap is for user benefit and not for to submit it to search engines. Having an html sitemap on a site makes it easy to access to its users as if a user looking for any page of your website then he can click on sitemap to get all links for internal web pages.

XML sitemap is for Search engines it helps search engine spider to crawl all the URLs more frequently at the same place because it provides more information to search engine spider. An XML sitemap includes list of all URLs of a site with information like when it was updated, how much time it usually takes to have some change, what is the importance of a particular page in comparison to others.

Creating an XML Sitemap:

Creating an error free sitemap is also so important because if you have even a little error it may cause of indexing problems. So if your hosting providers provide utilities to create your sitemap then its good and if not then also no need to worry as some free or paid tools are also available on the web.

For creating XML sitemap you can use xml-sitemaps.com. It is really a better option to create XML sitemap to a website. It is so easy to just go to site and enter your site URL into the generator box you also have options to change frequency, last modification date and priority and then click on start. In a few minutes, XML sitemap will generate. Just copy-and-paste the resulting sitemap into notepad, save it and upload to your site with the file name: sitemap.xml

If you want to validate the XML prior uploading to the search engines look at the XML validator where you can put in the URL of your sitemap and check it according to the standard.

Submitting sitemap to Google:

Google originally developed the XML schema which defines the structure of an XML document for sitemaps. You can submit your XML sitemap to Google through Google webmaster tools at by creating an account at-

www.google.com/webmasters/tools

To submit a sitemap to Google you also have to prove that you are the owner of the particular website. The verification is achieved by adding a meta tag between the head tags on your site homepage.

Submitting site/sitemap to Yahoo:

Submitting sitemap to Yahoo is not very different from submitting a sitemap to Google. Yahoo! Site Explorer is a dedicated service for webmasters from Yahoo. First you need to create a yahoo account to submit a site/sitemap to yahoo then go to-

siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/

and submit your website URL and click to “add my site” button. After that click on verification button then you get an option to download a verification key html file which you will need to upload to root directory of your web server.

You can then download a verification key html file – which you will need to upload to the root directory of your web server. After uploading verification key, come back to Site Explorer and click to start authentication. Verification process may take up to 24 hours. Here you can also add your sitemap by clicking on the manage button and then adding the sitemap as a feed.

Submit site to MSN:

Like yahoo you need not to have an msn account to submit your site you can submit your site URL to MSN just by going to-

http://search.msn.com.my/docs/submit.aspx?FORM=WSUT

MSN do not support direct submission of sitemap, they do suggest on their blog that you add a reference to your Sitemap into your robots.txt file.

For example:

User-agent: * Sitemap: http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

Disallow: /cgi-bin/

This would tell MSN and also to other search engines to crawl your sitemap file but not to crawl your cgi-bin directory.

Above information will sure help you in creating and submitting your sitemap to major search engines. If you have any comments or queries feel free to send it to me.

Why You Need to Do More Than Submit a Site to Succeed in Your Website Marketing Campaign

There was a time when you would click the ‘submit site’ icon on a search engine form and that was the extent of your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy. After all, you let the search engine know you existed that had to be enough. You’d show up in their search engine soon enough.

You even went to the search engine a few days later and typed in your business name. Sure enough your site showed up in the top ten – probably number one. So where are all the customers? When search engine users conduct searches they are rarely looking simply for a business name. They are seeking information or a product name.

Search engines are looking for a clear way to identify your site and help individuals find the most trusted and promising information. If your content is viewed as lacking focus the search engines can’t rank you as strongly as you may want.

The truth is you don’t even need to hit the ‘submit site’ icon to find your site listed on a search engine. Yes, taking the time to submit your site can put you on the fast track to discovery, but is not essential to ultimately getting your site indexed.

Essentially there are only a relative few search engines that you need to be concerned with because the majority of search sites use similar strategies for rankings. Google, Yahoo and MSN are ones that should be at the top of your list for site submission. The others will find you soon enough.

Beyond rankings you should be concerned about the potential for success using website advertising. This could be in the form of Pay Per Click (PPC) or Banner ads, but is not limited to these common forms of targeted advertising.

Some businesses work at video streaming. They create an effective and shareable video that works to establish a buzz about your business idea.

Did you know that website advertising can also be accomplished through effective blog creation as well as article marketing.

Blogs can be a positive way to advance the advertising cause of your online store by effectively using information to direct consumers to your business website. Article marketing allows you to share information that others can use, but has the added benefit of directing potential customers from multiple sites who use the content back to your business site.

Let me elaborate a bit on article marketing. This strategy allows you to share your knowledge. When you submit the material to a free article directory others can use your information at no cost. The benefit is that the end user must include your mini-biography as a condition of use. That bio should include links back to your primary site. Search engines like to find deep backlinks that take them to your site. This strategy improves your visibility to search engines. The more your article is freely used the more backlinks you will acquire.

You should never simply settle for submitting your site to a search engine and hoping for the best. You need to be proactive and constant in your push to be visible to both search engines and the consuming public.

Web marketing can take on multiple forms and the use of a qualified marketing firm can assist you in developing advertising strategies that are focused and successful.

There are several ways to find pages to get links from, however the best way is searching the internet. Say that you had a web site design company and you wanted to find sites to place your link on. Submit to Web Directories to Increase Search Engine Rankings

Submission to web directories has been one of the oldest methods to increase search engine rankings of a site, which is still working. This is an SEO strategy that many websites consider to get targeted traffic to their websites. Such submission could be quite useful if they’re done at the right web directories. One good reason for such benefits will be revealed to us when we check out the backlinks of some websites with high Alexa ranking at this search engine.

Usually when you use such services, you can submit one page to several directories. Therefore, this will be a good opportunity to enhance the search engine ranking of that particular page for the keywords in your mind. But there are certain steps that you should take before you submit to web directories. I explain them here at this article for you.

Keyword Research Before Submission to Web Directories

You should conduct a keyword research to for the page you’d like to submit. Then, when you finalize a decision on which phrases to target for that particular page, you can start optimizing that page for it. Here the question will be how to optimize such a page.

Keywords are the road map to the search engine rankings. So, you should use them at your title and close to the beginning of the title tags. Then, you use them at least at headings 1 to 3 of the page. Again, the best practice will be to use it close to the beginning of the headings. After that, an optimized copywriting skill is required to write a webpage content with those keyphrases in it.

Keep in mind that there are some other measures that you can take to enhance that particular page from inside your site like strengthening the linking structure of your site. You can link to this certain webpage from inside your site. When you are explaining some topic, make a link to this page using the key phrase as links. This has a great impact on the importance of that certain keyphrase at your site.

Often the SEO service providers, who are in directory submission, don’t write such pages for you and only perform the submission job. It’s your duty to do this before you hire such submission service providers. Do not skip this step as it’s the prerequisite step to the submission work.

Which Web Directories to Submit to?

1) Yahoo Directory

Yahoo is the web directory the link of which can boost your search engine rankings in Google. When you get a link from Yahoo directory, many other web directories add a link to your page too. The sites indexed at this directory are well categorized by its powerful team of human editors. Of course, the submission doesn’t mean you’re listed.

An amount of US$299 (nonrefundable) is paid for evaluation. If you’re approved, your link will be uploaded. If not, your money will not be refunded. So, take a lot of care before you submit to them to make sure you comply with their rules.

2) Open Directory Project (ODP)

DMOZ, ODP or Open Directory is another web directory that is free, but you cannot accelerate their inclusion process. On the other hand, as human editors work in that directory to index your site, they will include any description that they deem fit for your site. Of course, you can write to them if you disagree with it, but it takes a lot of time to get answer form them. Yet, Google gives a lot of credit to your site if you get a link from them.

You have to wait for a long time till you receive an approval from them. It’s worth submitting to them, because Google and Yahoo Search will use their listings. Also other web directories use DMOZ listings.
